MANCHESTER UNITED BOSS REVEALS WHAT RONALDO SAID AFTER BEING SUBBED IN THE BRENTFORD GAME

Manchester United's best player Cristiano Ronaldo was irritated after being substituted in last night's league match against Brentford.

With the visitors ahead 2-0, the Portuguese international was replaced by Harry Maguire in the 71st minute.

In the last phases of the game, interim coach Ralf Rangnick attempted to shore up their defence, but Ronaldo was not thrilled.

Later, the German was queried about the player's reaction to the replacement, as the No.7 appeared enraged and exchanged a few words with him.

He stated,

‘’Why me, why did you take me off?' questioned Ronaldo. I stated that I had to make a decision on behalf of the team and the club. Maybe when he's a coach in a few years, he'll get it."

Ronaldo is rarely substituted, despite the fact that he will turn 37 in a few days.

That speaks to his dependability even at such a young age, as well as his tremendous lifespan.

Rangnick, on the other hand, was only trying to tighten up the screws at the back to avoid a repeat of last Saturday's collapse at Villa Park.

Aston Villa scored twice in the final 15 minutes of the match to come back from a 2-0 deficit to draw 2-2 with Manchester United. The visitors had taken a comfortable lead thanks to a brace from Bruno Fernandes, but a late collapse saw them drop from three points to one.

Rangnick continued,

‘’I told him [Ronaldo] we were 2-0 up and we needed to learn from Villa Park; I was furious with myself after that game for not switching to a back five. It was the same situation today, 2-0 with 15 minutes to go, and I didn't want to make the same mistake."

Rangnick hopes Ronaldo knows his role since the Manchester United coach is never delighted when he is replaced. His unquenchable hunger for goals makes it nearly impossible for him to leave the field before the game is finished.

However, his current Manchester United coach believes that the star understands that some decisions were taken with the best interests of the team in mind. "Listen, Cristiano, you're 36 years old and in excellent form, but as a head coach, you'll view things through the eyes of a head coach. My responsibility is to make decisions that benefit the team and the club, and I hope he sees it that way as well."
